Job Description
Tasks & Responsibilities

• The role of Technical Architect - Systems involves designing, implementing and managing the Internet Servers
• Primarily responsible for managing and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of Mail Servers
• Additionally will be responsible for ensuring performance guarantees, backups and security
• Scripting, programming and administrative duties will be involved as and when required
• Will be required to provide secon-line / escalation support directly to customers and advise the front-line support team as required
• Will be responsible for Software Architect and User Interface Design forthe projects assigned
• Will lead a team work independently to develop projects with timely commitment and will report to Project Manager with project status

Skill Sets - Primary

• Excellent knowledge of high capacity mail server administration using POP3, SMTP, and IMAP
• Good knowledge of installing and managing Linux / Unix / Solaris flavors
• Server administrator knowledge of DNS and database systems (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
• Familiarity with Bourne Shell, Perl, PHP, Awk

Skill Sets - Secondary

• Understanding of Networking
• Familiarity with Windows Servers (desirable, but not mandatory)
• Network security experience (IP Chains, VPN, Firewall, DDoS attacks, etc)

Personal Attributes

• High level of maturity and responsibility required for managing mission critical servers
• Excellent communication skills
• Must have ability to help users via phone
• Good problem solving skills
• Flexible schedule to meet demands of an operational business

Qualifications

• Candidate must be Graduate in any field, preferably with technical background (Graduate / Graduate Equivalent Diploma in software / hardware)

Experience

• Minimum three years of experience in similar position
• Must have handled mailing solutions at the service provider level.
